Set default proofing/spelling language in Outlook

To set or change the default proofing language in Outlook, please do as follows:

1. In the Mail view, click Home > New Email to create a new email.

2. In the new Message window, click Review > Language > Set Proofing Language. See screenshot:

3. Now the Language dialog box comes out, please click to select the new language you will set as default in the Mark selected text as list box, and click the Set As Default button. See screenshot:

4. In the popping out Microsoft Outlook dialog box, please click the Yes button to go ahead.

5. And then click the OK button to close the Language dialog box, and close the new email without saving.

So far, you have changed or set the default proofing language to the specified one in Outlook.

    hell that has to be possible via GPO or at leatst there has to be a reg key a can distribute via gpo^^ is microsoft developing their software somwhere off that world we live in?

    Yeah, this is the default way and works fine(ish), however this doesn't fix the Subject - for the subject Outlook picks up the keyboard language and pushes that down your throat. I have a different keyboard language but never ever write anything in the langauge of the keyboard and by default every subject line is in that language - but my default language for mails in English. From time to time I switch to a 3:rd of 4:th language and write my message in that language, in which case I set the language for that specific email to the new language.
    Works fine except for, again, the subject. Can't get rid of the keyboard language
    (do not suggest I switch keyboard language, I may never use the language but if I change the keyboard language I lose efficiency as I am a fast typer but need the keyboard language I grew up with for that).
    Notice! I do write to people using the language I have for my keyboard as well, just never from the work computer where I have MS office installed. I am not planning on learning new, I just wish Microsoft were better at multilingual settings, as other companies manage to get it right while MS have been struggling with the same thing for year (or they don't just care)

How to change the default Mac app for specific file types

  1. Right-click on a file that uses the file type you'd like to change the default for. For example, one with a .jpg extension (a photo).
  2. Click on Get Info in the pop-up.
  3. Click Open With if the section isn't already expanded.

  4. Click the dropdown and choose an app.

  5. Click Change All..

  6. Click Continue when the Finder asks you if you're sure.

Now any time you open a file with that extension, the Finder will automatically open it with the app you've selected.
