  1. Office 365-based email accounts for OHIO students, faculty, staff, and alumni who graduated after 2000. Login Many older email/calendar applications will stop working later this year when Microsoft disables Basic Authentication. Find out if you are affected.
  2. Students: This product is part of the University's Microsoft Campus Agreement Student Option. The Student Option allows eligible UM students to use one copy of this product. Faculty & Staff: As part of the University's Microsoft Campus Agreement, Faculty and Staff can purchase the Microsoft Office Suite at a greatly reduced price.

Why did The Ohio State University seek to establish the Microsoft Campus Agreement? Microsoft Office is used by the majority of OSU students, faculty and staff who have personal computers (approximately 30,000 on the OSU main campus). The university wants to have the most cost-effective way to purchase the software and manage the software licenses.

The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) is updating all managed devices from Microsoft Office 2019 to Microsoft Office 365 on Friday, March 29. Prior to that date, you can update to Office 365 at your convenience using JAMF Self Service. To view instructions on how to install this update, visit https://ocio.osu.edu/KB06123.

The first time you reopen a Microsoft Office product after this update, you will need to sign in using your university email address (lastname.#@osu.edu) and password. You will also be required to log in to access these products in the future whenever you change your password.
